Some people suffer from insomnia during the holy month of Ramadan, and the reason may be due to eating foods during the pre-dawn meal that lead to difficulties in sleeping.

Foods that cause insomnia at suhoor
1- Tomatoes
Tomatoes contain a high percentage of tyramine, an amino acid that stimulates the brain to release hormones that lead to a sense of alertness, so it should be avoided during the pre-dawn meal.
There are other foods rich in tyramine acid, such as eggplant and soy sauce, that must be avoided at suhoor, to avoid insomnia.

2- hot pepper
It is necessary for the suhoor meal to be completely devoid of hot pepper, because it is one of the foods that cause insomnia, by raising the body temperature for a long time, which impedes the ability to sleep.

3- Citrus fruits
Despite the high nutritional value of citrus fruits, such as lemons, oranges, grapefruits and strawberries, it is preferable to avoid them during Suhoor, as they cause disturbing digestive disorders that prevent sleep, such as reflux and heartburn.
4- Sweets
Sweets are among the foods that are prohibited during the pre-dawn meal, because their high sugars lead to a blood sugar disorder, as it rises sharply, then decreases quickly, which leads to a feeling of insomnia.

5- Fatty foods
It is difficult for the stomach to digest fatty foods at night, such as fried foods, which leads to digestive disorders that cause the person to wake up all night, because he does not feel comfortable.
