The growth of producer prices accelerated significantly year on year in May, in all four monitored categories. IN industry it was 28% (in line with market expectations), in
services 6 %, ve construction 13 %. But clear first
place yeah urvalo agriculture with growth of as much as 39%. Within this framework, prices in the food part (55%) grew significantly more than in the animal part (22%), probably due to rising prices fertilizers (influence of high gas prices) and cereals (the impact of the war on Ukraine).

Of course, they are not good news. In particular as regards prices in agriculture It looks like an oncoming devilish
rising food prices. On the second side but it seems to have already taken place food prices is – historically – with the development
agricultural producer prices roughly in relation.

The following chart compares both of these price indices, with the one agricultural is postponed by 6 months to the future, because just 6 months seems to be the delay with which the development of these prices is reflected in food prices most. And the graph shows that what stems from the wild development of prices
agricultural manufacturers in recent months already have
food prices roughly “boarded” too.

But before agricultural production gets to tradea significant part of it still has to be processed within the food industry industry. And price developments in this sector are still ahead food prices first.
