In a cynical attempt to appease the citizens Egypt Regarding the recent increase in food prices, President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi sparked that its citizens eat leaves from trees as they have done Nabi Muhammad SAW.

The tease refers to the siege against Muslims by the Quraish, which ended with the Prophet Muhammad’s first wife, Khadijah, dying and they lost all their wealth. That year is known as the Year of Sorrow and was the worst year in the life of the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
Al-Sisi said in his statement that at that time, Muslims did not complain. He also advised Egyptians to be patient and not demand an immediate solution.
Earlier in March, Egypt turned to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for the third time in six years to apply for a loan as the country grapples with corruption, the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and now Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Analysts predict that further increases in fuel and food prices are likely to spark civil unrest in Egypt, where a third of the population lives below the poverty line.
