The band is currently touring in South America. They were scheduled to play in Bogota in Colombia on Saturday night Norwegian time, and at Lollapalooza in São Paulo in Brazil on Sunday.
The Colombian newspaper The viewer writes that the drummer was found dead in a hotel room in Bogotá just hours before they were to go on stage in the city.
The death was announced on the screens at the stage where the band was to perform.

Hawkins’ last concert was in Argentina five days ago.
Describes Hawkins as his best friend
Hawkins has been part of the Foo Fighters since 1997. Dave Grohl is the front man and formed the band in 1994.
Hawkins made his debut on the album “The Color and the Shape”, which included the Foo Fighters classics “Monkey Wrench” and “Everlong”. He participates in three songs that were not included on the original album. He joined in full force and is on the entire “There is Nothing Left to Lose”, which came out in 1999.
Grohl and Hawkins were good friends. In a book from 2021, he calls the drummer his “brother from another mother, my best friend and a man I would take a bullet for”, writes AP.

As news of Hawkin’s death spreads, more famous musicians use social media to pay tribute to the artist.
Rage Against the Machines Tom Morello has shared a photo of him and Hawkins with Perry Farrell.
Miley Cyrus has shared a photo of the drummer Instagram and writes that her next concert will be dedicated to him.
Ozzy Osbourne writes on Twitter that Hawkins was a great person and a wonderful musician.
The news agency AP writes that the authorities in Colombia have not yet commented on the death. The US Embassy in Bogota expresses its colonial dances on Twitter.
