Foo Fighters Continue After Drummer Hawkins’ Death, But Become A “Different” Band | Music

Foo Fighters continue after drummer Taylor Hawkins’ death but indicate it will be “different”. The American group promises Saturday Instagram quickly return to the podium.

It’s the first time since Hawkins’ death in March that the Foo Fighters have made any official statements about the future. “We could not have become the band we were without Taylor,” they write. “And without Taylor, we’re sure we’ll be a different band in the future.”

“We know you fans meant as much to Taylor as he meant to you. And we know that when we see you again — and soon — his spirit will be with us every night.”

Hawkins died suddenly this year at the age of fifty. Foo Fighters have canceled the remaining performances of their tour. In September, the band performed again for the first time at two benefit concerts held in Hawkins’ honor. The drummer had been in Foo Fighters since 1997, a few years after they were founded. The band does not report a replacement.
