Located between the La Martinette shopping center and the future EHPAD (Accommodation establishment for dependent elderly people) along the road to Tarbes, this project, which extends over more than 5 hectares, with 200 jobs at stake, will complete the commercial offer of the ZAC “Les Portes du Gers”, with activities mainly related to services. It will see the establishment of facilities that do not cause nuisance (sound or olfactory) for the neighborhood. Offices, a medical and para-medical center, a showroom, a restaurant-caterer or small shops should be established there. The project definitively excludes medium and large commercial surfaces. An accommodation area is still being studied which could give rise to a hotel residence or a residence for young workers. The major challenge is the creation of a business park whose impact on its environment will be reduced. In addition, its location is strategic since it is directly located next to the Tarbes road, which represents, with the D937 (detour leading to Fontenilles accessible via the roundabout after the Lycée Clémence Royer), a direct axis of communication with Toulouse and its agglomeration. A meeting was held on July 6 with the residents of this future area to present the development project to them and answer all their questions. They were also informed of the work schedule. These are scheduled to begin in the fall of 2022 and end at best in 2024, or even in 2025.
