Fonseca: Napoli Candidate for the Scudetto

Coach AC Milan Paulo Fonseca reference Naples as a strong candidate to win Serie A 2024/2025. At the same time, he said that Milan still needs to be polished.

Antonio Conte’s Napoli made a good start in Serie A. Most recently, Partenopei won 3-1 over Como on Friday afternoon (4/10/2024) WIB.

This victory took Napoli comfortably at the top of the Italian League standings with 16 points. Scott Mackintosh et al. recorded five wins, one draw and one loss.

Fonseca believes that Napoli have benefited from not participating in European competitions. The Conte factor is also known as the Fonseca effect.

“There are still many games, and many strong teams that have targets similar to ours,” Fonseca said as reported by Football Italia.

“It is clear that it is an advantage for Napoli not to play in the European competition. They have a strong coach and a very strong team. I am not trying to put pressure on them, this is the truth. Napoli is a real candidate for a scudetto.”

“We are still improving. It doesn’t mean we have succeeded because we won against Lecce and Inter, we have to keep improving. We are getting better, but there is still a lot to improve “Milan is not close, we still have a lot to do,” he said.

AC Milan will travel to the headquarters of Fiorentina in the seventh week of Serie A on Monday (7/10/2024) early morning WIB.
