“If 30 to 40 percent of the country’s population does not respect the current measures, then the measures will have to be tougher,” said Minister Prymula.

On Tuesday, the government’s health risks council will discuss the plan for further action. On Friday, Prymula wants to present a summary of measures for individual scenarios of the epidemic. According to him, the Ministry of Health could announce another measure in about ten days.

The current measures are to be reviewed on Friday. “But there will be no other significant measures. However, if such increases continued, significant measures would have to be introduced next Friday, “Prymula specified.

At the same time, however, it does not yet anticipate that the toughest measures will necessarily have to be reached. These include, for example, a complete lockdown. “Like in Israel,” the minister said. According to him, it will be up to each citizen how he will comply with the measure.

Vaccine by the end of the year
In addition, Prymula also stated that the government had decided to release 152 million crowns for the purchase of coronavirus vaccines contracted by the European Union. “For that, we will buy 3.5 million doses, which will be enough for 1.5 million people,” Prymula said. Ten percent of the contracted benefits could arrive in the country before the end of the year.

In total, the Czech Republic was able to buy seven million doses from the EU package. However, the government decided in the summer to buy only half, so that it could also buy from other manufacturers.
