A Public Good journalist on board a solidarity convoy

Our journalist and photographer Emma Buoncristiani accompanies, this Thursday morning, a convoy which must take the direction of Przemyśl, a city in the south-east of Poland located on the border with Ukraine. A journey of 1,700 kilometers to bring food to the place and bring back Ukrainian refugees on their way back.

At the origin of this initiative: Nicolas, 47, resident of Fontaine-lès-Dijon. Faced with the images of the war in Ukraine, he had the idea of helping the Ukrainians by leaving to deliver things that would be useful for the people there. Thanks to word of mouth, his initiative spread throughout the department and other people joined the project.

The objective: to bring “mainly medical cargo, war clothing, shoes, warm and technical clothing” for the people on site and “bring back at least 12 Ukrainian refugees”. Seven people therefore leave this Thursday in a convoy of three loaded vehicles.
