Sharjah will be fined Dh10,000 for organizing busy parties and celebrations. Authorities also warned that a social distance of at least four meters should be ensured. Sharjah Police will conduct strict checks across the emirate. On Friday, January 1, New Year’s Day, the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Indigenization announced a paid official holiday for all public and private sector employees in the country.

Special plan to clean up the city

The municipality has announced an integrated waste management plan to clean up the city of Dubai after the New Year celebrations. It will employ 750 people and 250 people from various private companies. 216 garbage containers of various sizes will also be distributed. The clean-up will take place mainly in Burj Khalifa, beaches, Rikha, Murakhabad, Al Khudra, Lou Lake, Jumeirah and the Dubai Water Canal. The Dubai Municipality currently has 500 cleaners.

Three field hospitals

Three more field hospitals were opened to ensure safety during the New Year celebrations. The new hospitals are part of the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Health Authority said. These hospitals are directly linked to Rashid, Latifa and Dubai Hospital. Authorities urged the public to strictly follow all instructions issued by health officials.

Strict security at celebrations

A total of 685 paramedics, 200 ambulances, 122 ambulance stations and 78 emergency points have been deployed for security at the venue. Special security guards were also deployed on public transport. 21 special civil defense stations are being opened. 71 fire truck units are ready.

Dubai Metro: Burj Khalifa Metro Station 31st from 5pm

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said it would be closed until 6 a.m. on January 1. The Red Line will run 44 hours from 5 a.m. on Dec. 31 to 1 a.m. on Jan. 2. The Green Line 31 will run 43.5 hours from 5.30am to 1am on January 2nd. The tram service, meanwhile, will run from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. on January 31.

Bus

Major stations, including Gold Souk, will be open from 5.32am to 12.59am on Fridays. Al Ghubaibah station from 4.43 am to 12.29 am.

Substations (including Satwa) except Route C01 from 5.04 am to 11.29 pm. Khisais station from 5 am to 12.08 pm. Al Qus Industrial Station from 5.30 am to 11.35 pm.

Jebel Ali station will be open from 5.40 am to 12.51 pm. All intercity bus services will be open on Fridays.

Metrolink bus

Rashi: Metro Link bus service at Diya, Mall of Emirates, Ibn Battuta, Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa, Abu Hail and Etisalat from 5am to 1.10pm.

Waterbus: Water buses at Marina stations are available from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday from 12 noon to 12 midnight. Abri and ferry services will run longer.
