The son of its founder spoke about the one-man principle that was the basic operating principle of folli follie, George Koutsolioutsoswho began his testimony today Wednesday (3/4) at the Three-member Court of Criminal Appeals of Athens.
Earlier, concluding his testimony at the trial, Dimitris Koutsoliutsos said: “It bothers me that there has been a collusion of PcW all this time – and that’s why the checks were not done correctly – with the new management of the company and the tolerance of the Capital Market Commission.
My mind all this time is there. Why five years has everything been sold and a lie continues to this day? I am so upset. Normally I should be in some institution for depression but I will fight it to get people back on their feet. That’s what I wanted to say because it’s inside me.”
“I couldn’t even finish my sentence”
Starting his own apology, Tzortzis Koutsolioutsos referred extensively to his studies and his involvement with his father’s company.
“From the beginning I felt it was a man’s beginning. My father had the first and last word. I felt that I wasn’t being heard,” said the defendant, among other things, adding that “not being heard troubled me. I had ideas and wanted to offer.”
“In 1997 the company was listed on the stock exchange. This brought to light what the company had achieved so far. Within this context, and while everyone in Greece knew us, a proposal was made to privatize duty-free shops” he added.
Then J. Koutsolioutsos referred to the duty-free shops in the Board of Directors of which he was a member. “At folli follie I couldn’t even finish my sentence, I didn’t see myself continuing with this brand in the future” added the defendant.
The apology of George Koutsoliutsos is expected to continue tomorrow Thursday, when the defendant is also expected to report to the Asian subgroup.
