The pre-patch for Shadowlands, the eighth extension for World of Warcraft, is now live on European servers. In the pre-patch, players can already get started with the new looks for characters, the new level system and the class changes.
The customizations for new characters bring some much-requested options: players can choose to hide their bones as an undead and there are also tattoos that allow players to look like a warhammer dwarf. Also for the other races there are a lot of new hairstyles, skin colors and accessories such as earrings, piercings and tattoos.
The pre-patch also comes with the ‘unpruning’ for many classes, with old abilities removed in previous extensions returning or abilities associated with one specialization now available for the entire class. Leveling characters to cap has also been streamlined: new players start in a new zone called Exile’s Reach. Then they can choose the expansion they want to level in, with the ultimate goal that when an expansion is ready the player is level 50 and ready for Shadowlands.
In the coming weeks, new quests will also be coming to Northrend in which players will experience exactly what happens after Sylvanas Windrunner destroys the Lich King’s helmet in the cinematic. There will also be an event where players in the capitals can change into members of the scourge, similar to the pre-patch event of Wrath of the Lich King.
Shadowlands has recently been postponed. The pre-patch is therefore live, but we don’t know yet when the expansion will actually be playable.
