The last few parts are nothing new: you get extra benefits when you get the most recent Call of Duty on the PlayStation platform. The upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is no exception, according to a new announcement from the Sony camp.
It was previously announced that the new Zombie Onslaught mode is exclusive to players on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5. Only after a year of waiting will players on PC or an Xbox platform also play this game mode. It doesn’t stop there, as PlayStation players will also get benefits in the game’s PvP modes.
First of all, all platforms will be able to use a Battle Pass, which comes with an affordable bundle. For around € 20 you can skip 25 tiers in the Battle Pass, so that you get faster access to new weapons, for example. At least, if you play on PlayStation, on other platforms your money is worth less, there you only get 20 tier skips.
PlayStation players also receive a permanent + 25% weapon experience bonus when playing in a party. With these points you can upgrade your weapons with extra attachments and other customizations. In addition, there will be a 2x XP event every month. Exclusive to PlayStation, of course. Players on other platforms are rewarded less for the same amount of time they put into the game.
As a (hopefully) final point, PlayStation players will get access to two additional loadout slots. This will allow players to create more versatile loadouts and thus be more flexible in PvP matches than players on other platforms. Since the game supports full cross-play across all platforms, fans are already calling the upcoming game the first ‘pay on PlayStation to win’ game. All of the above benefits will remain exclusive to PlayStation until November 1, 2021.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War coming November 13 to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. A significantly lesser version of the game will also be released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC on the same day.
