Foix. Two Irish music concerts with TonG

The TonG duo will perform two concerts in town, Thursday and Saturday. And weather permitting, musicians will also perform at the market on Friday. They will mainly play Irish music.

First of all, Thursday October 24, at 7:30 p.m., they will play outdoors at the “36” café, opposite the cinema. Saturday October 26, the public will be able to meet them at 8 p.m. at Mauvaise Foix, Place Duthil.

TonG is the name they chose. “It’s a contraction of Titanic on the Gange,” explains Samuel Bricault, a Fuxé flautist known to the public for having already played with other groups. He uses several flutes, baroque and Indian, which gives original colors to the music.

As for Guillaume Chaumard, guitarist, who comes more from a jazz rock universe, he is also a composer, plays the piano, with a lot of creativity for his music.

They have been playing together for almost three years, traditional Irish music that is both well-rhythmic and trance-inducing, but also contemplative and dreamlike.

Nourished by secular themes, and inspired by modern groups, Guillaume and Samuel arrange, compose, concoct suites with their own influences: Indian, classical, rock, jazz, with a wide variety of flutes and harmonies. They adapt their playing and their repertoire according to the places where they play: mainly pubs and concert halls.

Playing with the hat, they hope that it will be generous and will cover the clip they are making.
