People cannot request fogging without following the procedures.
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The East Jakarta City Government (Pemkot Jktim) has asked residents to comply with procedures during fumigation (fogging). Fumigation is intended to prevent the spread of mosquitoes Temples of the Egyptians as a cause of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF).
“Fogging performed when there is a case, then the procedure must also be followed. People cannot ask for it arbitrarily, ”said West Pejaten village head Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, Asep Ahmad Umar, when he met in Jakarta on Tuesday (4/10/2022).
According to Asep, fumigation must comply with the rules written in the regional regulation n. 6/2007 concerning the control of dengue haemorrhagic fever (DHF). It is stated that fumigation must be coordinated with the kelurahan, sub-district, and then subjected to puskesmas so that everything is coordinated.
Meanwhile, Asep said the fumigation function was only to kill adult mosquitoes. Mosquito eggs do not die with fogging hence it must be eradicated by other means.
Asep explained the places where mosquito larvae gather, ranging from dispensers, flower pots, bathtubs to fruit on trees wrapped in plastic. Therefore, Asep invites residents to perform community service by cleaning their homes every Friday at 09:00 WIB.
