Phil Foden was called back to strengthen the England national team. However, there was no place for it yet Mason Greenwood.
Foden and Greenwood had a chance to act up when they entered the squad England national team at the international break last September. They took the women into the team’s hotel room on a trip to Iceland.
As a result, both of them were immediately dropped from the squad and returned to England. Foden and Greenwood are deemed to have violated the quarantine rules implemented by the England national team in the midst of the pandemic.
Foden and Greenwood then missed out on the national team at all as England face Wales, Belgium and Denmark in the international break in October.
Ahead of the November international match, Gareth Southgate has again included Foden in the squad for the Three Lions. Since the incident in Iceland, the 20-year-old midfielder has scored three goals in six Premier League games.
However, Greenwood experienced a different fate. Southgate has not given a place for the Manchester United player. Danny Ings’ injury was also not enough to make Southgate recall Greenwood.
Raheem Sterling has also returned to the England squad. The Manchester City player missed the international break last month with a hamstring injury.
At the international break this November, England will host the Republic of Ireland in a friendly at Wembley Stadium on 12 November. They will then face Belgium (15/11) and Iceland (18/11) in the UEFA Nations League continued.
