[더팩트 | 공미나 기자] ‘Animals Are Wonderful’ has returned to regular programming. The production team asked for a lot of interest, saying that through the program, they will create a companion animal culture where all animals, including humans, can understand and coexist.
Producer Son Soo-hee said at the online press conference for KBS2’s entertainment program ‘Animals Are Great’ held on YouTube on the 15th, “Through the program, we will be able to increase our understanding of animals as well as humans.” PD Son Soo-hee, Defconn Eun Ji-won, and Jang Do-yeon attended the event.
‘Animals Are Great’ is a new program introduced by KBS after ‘Dogs Are Great’ was abolished due to controversy over dog trainer Kang Hyung-wook. After previously showing three pilot broadcasts, it will meet viewers through regular programming starting from the 16th. The regular program ‘Animals Are Wonderful’ will feature stories about a wider variety of animals and provide even more in-depth stories.
In the program, Defconn’s Eun Ji-won and Jang Do-yeon will serve as MCs, and experts include veterinarian Kim Myeong-cheol, who has more than 400,000 YouTube subscribers, and Cho Chan-hyung, who formed the first animal lawyer team in Korea.
Producer Son Soo-hee said, “The program is about understanding animals and thinking about coexistence. If there is an annoying person next to me, there are quite a few cases where they don’t understand it even though they are of the same species. Through ‘Animals Are Great’, understanding of humans will also increase. “I will be able to do it,” he said of what he expects from the program.
Producer Son Soo-hee then explained the program, saying, “Anycam is the symbol of the program,” and added, “Through this, we will show everything from cute images of animals that are hard to see in everyday life to touching moments.”
On SBS, the long-running animal program ‘Animal Farm’ has been on the air for 23 years. The production team of ‘Animals Are Great’ pointed out the differences from ‘Animal Farm’ and expected a coexistence.
Producer Son Soo-hyun said, “Our program focuses on companion animal culture,” and “We will show how animals can be cared for and coexist by dealing with storytelling that occurs between animals.” He added, “We will coexist for a long time with ‘Animal Farm.’ “I want to,” I hoped.
Jang Do-yeon and Eun Ji-won, who have been together since the pilot, expressed their love for ‘Animals Are Great’, saying, “There was no reason not to do this program.” Defconn, who joined from the regular programming, said, “I will join with the mindset that I will learn a lot since there are people around me who love animals so much.”
The three MCs were determined and hoped that the program would be of great help to viewers. Eun Ji-won said, “I hope that through ‘Animals Are Wonderful,’ you will learn about legal issues related to companion animals and find healing.” Jang Do-yeon added, “If we want to live together, we need to know each other. I will work hard to provide good information to viewers.”
