«Focus on five venues, from Versilia to London»

Il Giraffe it may soon change owner. Flavio Briatorenow totally absorbed by his commitments with the Formula 1would in fact have decided to put his shares up for sale in the historic Marina di Pietrasanta factory, which could pass into the hands of an exceptional scion: among the most interested in fact would be Leonardo Maria Del Vecchioone of six children of Leonardo Del Vecchioformer owner of Luxottica who passed away in 2022.

The indiscretion about Twiga

According to what the newspaper Il Giornale writes, Briatore would be one step away from selling Twiga: while last spring there were rumors about the alleged interest of an American fund, this time in the front row there would be Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio, with whom – writes the newspaper – «negotiations are in the home stretch, putting the offers of two other international funds out of play». Briatore would have put the group on the market because he was busy full time with Formula 1.

Five venues from Versilia to Montecarlo

The sale would concern the five sites of the Twiga brand, which include the location in Marina di Pietrasanta, the one in London, the two in Montecarlo and the one in Ventimiglia, opened a few months ago. As for Del Vecchio, explains Corriere della Sera, in his recent investments he bought the Franco Mare restaurant, right in Marina di Pietrasanta and very close to Twiga itself, in his strategy of focusing on high-level catering and tourism. The last obstacle to the sale would now be Twiga’s minority shareholder, Dimitri Kunz of Habsburg, partner of Tourism Minister Daniela Santanché, who holds 33%: Kunz, however, has no intention of selling his share. We’ll see.
