FMS 2: Popó hits Pele; Cyborg Wins On Debut In Boxing | fight

José “Pelé” Landy paid dearly for the weight provocation. The MMA legend did not see the color of the glove at the main event of the Fight Music Show 2, this Sunday in Curitiba, and was quickly eliminated by Acelino “Popó” Freitas, four-time world boxing champion. In the co-main event, Cris “Cyborg” Justino debuted in boxing with a unanimous decision win, in a tough fight with veteran Simone “Mulher Gato” Silva.

After the riot the day before, Popó entered the ring bitten – he revealed on social media that Pele had cursed his mother at the time. It didn’t even take 10 seconds for the four-time world champion to get a knockdown with a straight forehand. The Bahian crusaders cause Pelé to stagger again and the referee opens the scoring once again. A straight and upright sequence, with Pele back into the corner, ended the night 1 minute 25 seconds into the fight.

– I have had several provocations (…), I have never been provoked. But when she messed up our ego, my family’s, my mom’s, then she messed up my heart. It was a gift I wanted to give you. That knockout was for me, for the honor of my family. I deserved this gift, because I turned 47 four days ago. I deserve it – said Popó after the fight.

Cyborg fought the same way as MMAs: advancing and attacking from the start. Simone, on the other hand, found himself at ease, dodging the opponent’s main blows and launching good counterattacks. Cris found his best distance from round two and started scoring more with jabs and straights. From the third round onwards, champion Bellator incorporated more crosses and uppercuts into her attack than her and proved to be faster than her opponent.

Simone changed the pace from the sixth round onwards. The former South American champion started moving forward and hit some left hooks. In the eighth and final round, Cyborg responded, with strong hooks and combinations of hooks to the body and straight to the head. Simone does not hold back and the two exchange frank blows looking for the knockout, but go to the decision of the judges. Cyborg was announced the winner by unanimous decision.

One of the main entertainment attractions of the event, the confrontation between actor Christian Figueiredo and singer Dynho Alves was more like a brawl than a brawl, but it ended spectacularly. More technical than his opponent, Dynho landed a sequence of direct hits and the second punch hit Figueiredo directly in the face, who fell to the ground at 1 minute 00 seconds of the third round.

“What happened here, stay here, and there will be the same tape outside,” Dynho said, ending the feud with Figueiredo. But the singer, who took the FMS “influencer belt”, took the opportunity to challenge Whindersson Nunes to a fight at the next edition of the event.

– The belt is with me. Whindersson, come next time I rip your head off – she teased.
