The DFB has decided: Qualifier winner ‘Svonn’ and kicker eSports author Tery Whenett will represent Germany at the first FIFAe World Cup of Football Manager.

27 out of 27 possible points – solid defensively and accurate up front: Sven Goly won the German qualifier for the FIFAe World Cup of Football Manager by a clear margin, leaving little doubt about his nomination. The DFB had the final say, but it was no surprise.
As the association announced late Friday afternoon on social media, ‘Svonn’ will represent the German colors at the very first Football Manager World Championship in Liverpool. Goly will be assisted by streamer and kicker eSports author Tery Whenett.
With his confident victory in the qualifier, he proved that he can successfully lead and develop teams.

“With Sven as manager, we have chosen someone who impresses with his innovative approach and tactical finesse. With his confident victory in the qualifier, he has proven that he can successfully lead and develop teams. Tery, as his assistant, brings additional tactical and strong analytical skills to the team, which is underlined by his years of in-depth knowledge and passion for the game,” the DFB explained to kicker eSport.
‘Svonn’ considers it “a great privilege to be able to represent the DFB as head coach at the FIFAe World Cup of Football Manager,” as he told kicker eSport. He is also delighted to have “gained a very versatile assistant for the tournament in Tery Whenett. In addition to a lot of experience and expertise in FM, Tery is well-known for his work in the FM.Two-man chain an experienced communicator with a close connection to the German FM community. Together we not only want to bring the title to Germany, but also pass on our knowledge and experience.”

For Whenett, the nomination is a highlight in his professional FM journey: “I have been creating content for Football Manager since 2015, but I never expected that the game would lead me to a DFB nomination and World Cup participation. In this respect, my thanks go to head coach Svonn and the DFB for their trust. After Svonn’s outstanding performance in the qualifier, we are going into the tournament with great sporting ambitions.”
The World Cup will take place from August 29 to September 1 and, like the qualifying tournaments, will be played in the Fantasy Draft FIFA will announce more details – such as how the groups will be divided or which best-of format will be used – in due course.
