Flying fists in Pfullingen at the Schönberg Cup – Sports News – Reutlinger General-Anzeiger

PFULLINGEN. Exciting ring action was on offer in the Kurt App Hall in Pfullingen. A good 500 spectators cheered on the fights of the Schönberg Cup International, in which the Pfullingen boxing team competed against the Croatian team from Zagreb. The local heroes were supported by boxers from Marburg.

There was already a lot on offer in the preliminary fight with fighters from VfL Pfullingen, SV 03 Tübingen, BC Wangen, BC Pfullendorf, VfKG Stuttgart, Rot-Weiß Stuttgart, 1. BC Marburg and SSV Reutlingen. SSV boxer Yigit Korkmaz lost on points after initial dominance. Newcomer Constantinos Dadakos from VfL Pfullingen celebrated a points victory in only his fourth fight.

After the break the main fights finally began. After a tough fight, Mykhailo Barabash from Pfullingen had to admit defeat in a close 1:2 decision. Josue Wakunda and Thorben Eiber also lost out to their Croatian opponents. After the fighters from Marburg were all able to win, Pfullingen’s veteran Kristijan Vrbat prevailed in the final fight and thus secured victory for his team. Chris Reiske, coach and organizer, was satisfied after the event and praised the team’s overall performance. (GEA)
