After the Netherlands has seen a sharp increase in the number of corona infections recently, the government has decided to implement a new partial closure across the country. The shutdown will last for three weeks.
This was announced by the Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte at a press conference on Friday night.
New national measures
– It will be a hard blow for a few weeks because the virus is everywhere, in the whole country, in all sectors and at all ages, Rutte says.
From Saturday, shops and restaurants, with the exception of grocery stores, must close from 19:00. At the same time, the population is advised to limit the number of guests visiting to four, as well as to work from home as much as possible.
This caused several Dutch people to react strongly.
