THE Fluminense needed a victory to enter the qualifying zone for the semifinals of the Carioca Championship. And that is exactly what happened. With Ganso’s goal, Tricolor took a few minutes to beat Bangu by 1 to 0 tonight (20), in São Januário, and jump to fourth place – the Botafogo plays tomorrow and can recover the spot.
After a very bad first half, without many opportunities, Fluminense improved in the complementary stage and achieved the important triumph. Bangu could not stand the pressure after the break, when Tricolor created at least three great chances until they managed to open the score and declare victory.
With the result, Fluminense went to six points and jumped four positions in the classification: it went from 8th to 4th. Tricolor will return to the field on Tuesday, when they will visit Boavista in Saquarema. Bangu, on the other hand, continues with four points and drops to 8th – faces Madureira, on Wednesday.
First submission at 29
The match between Fluminense and Bangu on Saturday night left the fans sleepy. To get an idea, the first submission only took place in the 29th minute, with Michel Araújo. The Uruguayan received a ball on the right and hit hard for a good defense by Paulo Henrique.
Featured, Gabriel Teixeira almost scored in a vacillating rival
One of the main highlights of the game was Gabriel Teixeira. Skittish and fast, he put teammates in good condition, but the last pass avoided scoring opportunities. At one point, he was launched by Ganso and took advantage of Bangu’s backside to kick the net from the outside.
Fluminense comes back from the break and puts pressure
Fluminense’s posture was completely different after the break. The team returned for the second half on, and the goal seemed like a matter of time. In just a few minutes, the team managed to create good opportunities and do what it did little in the first 45 minutes.
Goose opens score for Fluminense
And that is exactly what happened. In a good offensive plot, Caio Paulista fired Igor Julião in depth, and the defender went to the bottom line to find Ganso inside the area. At first, he dislocated the goalkeeper and opened the scoring for Fluminense.
Bangu has goal annulled in controversial bid
Bangu launched the attack and reached a draw, but the referee canceled the bid. Dionatan received in the left with freedom and crossed in the measure for Jean Carlos to prop up. Without VAR in this phase of Carioca, the bid created controversy, since the top scorer seemed to be in the same line.
Marcos Felipe saves Fluminense
Fluminense was barely punished at the end of the game. Jean Carlos, center forward for Bangu, received a ball inside the box and spun on Matheus Ferraz. Facing Marcos Felipe, he saw the tricolor goalkeeper loom large, take the angle and make a saving defense.
