Who did well – Goose
Featured in the Carioca final, Ganso played well and actively participated in the plays that ended in the goals of Cris Silva and Arias.
Celebrate, Chris Silva!
The left-back scored the first goal with the Fluminense shirt. Reinforcement for the season, the player was the target of some criticism from the fans and had the negotiation contested, but, as he told UOL Esporte, is in a process of readaptation after four seasons at Sheriff, from Moldova, and believes that the Carioca title helps in this period.
Flu performance
Fluminense kept the 3-5-2 scheme, having a midfielder and an attacking duo, as was the case in the Carioca finals. The team had more of the ball, but until the middle of the first half, it was difficult to find spaces in the opposing team. However, little by little, he found himself, creating chances and soon changed the score “in a double dose”.
The team returned for the second half with the same structure, but, little by little, with the substitutions, the Tricolor gained new breath and maintained the good rhythm.
Oriente Petrolero’s performance
With a formation designed, more or less, in the 4-5-1, Oriente Petrolero sought to populate the midfield and press the ball out of the Flu. The strategy worked for a while, but gradually became less effective. The Bolivian team even had good attacks, but when they didn’t run into their own mistakes, they stayed in the marking.
The team, even behind on the scoreboard, managed some good plots, with interesting exchanges of passes, but without so much effectiveness.
Chronology
The game started with Oriente Petrolero pressing the ball out of Fluminense, and giving the opponent some work. Gradually, however, the tricolor team passed and had a greater presence in the attacking field.
Despite hanging around the Bolivian team’s area, Tricolor could not find spaces and create clear opportunities. Cano even hit the net, but the submission took place after the irregular position was indicated by the referee.
The first one does not forget
Fluminense opened the scoring in a play that passed through midfielder Ganso and reached midfielder Yago Felipe, who took a risk from outside the area, and Quiñónez hit back. Cris Silva took advantage and sent it to the back of the net. It was his first goal in Tricolor.
Advantage
After the goal, Abel Braga’s team kept the pace and managed to extend the lead with Arias. Goose, in front of the area, triggered Samuel Xavier, who passed at speed. The right-back activated Arias, who hit a cross and scored the second for the Rio de Janeiro team.
There and here
The return of the break was busy. The Tricolor, in the first few minutes, pressed and, by a little, Ganso was unable to make the team’s third. Oriente Petrolero, in turn, took advantage of the flu’s defensive system nap and, in a good move, Carlos Roque stopped in Fábio. Shortly after, after the ball went from foot to foot, Yago hit it and sent it to the foot of the post.
Scare
The game had a tense moment. After lifting to the area, Samuel Xavier collided with the goalkeeper Quiñónez The two fell on the lawn and had to receive medical attention.
changes take effect
Coaches Abel Braga and Erwin Sánchez began to make substitutions and, on the tricolor side, Luiz Henrique and Willian Bigode entered. Right on the first move, Luiz Henrique triggered Cano, who crossed and, with a header, Bigode made Quiñónez work. Soon after, shirt 17 crossed to the area and Zazpe, when trying to cut, did against it.
tried the answer
Minutes after making a counter, Zazpe advanced to the attack and kicked hard, from afar. Fábio made the defense in two halves.
Almost a nice goal
In the final stretch of the game, Luiz Henrique received, advanced, passed two opponents and hit, but sent over the goal.
‘It’s champion’
At the final whistle, the crowd shouted “It’s champion”, and celebrated the triumph with the players.
