Pipa again!

A big name for Fluminense this season, Cano opened the scoring and scored 39 goals this season. He thus equaled Magno Alves, who in 2002 scored 39, hitherto top scorer of the Tricolore in a season of this century. Over the course of this year, the Argentine has overtaken names like Washington, who scored 37 goals in 2008, and Fred, who scored 34 in 2011.

In addition, he has scored 21 goals in the current Brasileirão and equaled Colombian Aristzábal, who achieved the score in 2003, as the competition’s foreign top scorer in a single edition in terms of consecutive points.

Who was wrong – Cleber

The forward had been one of Ceará’s most participatory, helping in the transition to attack, but received a yellow card early and was sent off in the second half after a game in which he tried to recover the ball. With one less, Vozão had to change his strategy.

Performance by Ceará

Ceará took the field with the 4-5-1 scheme and, at the start of the match, managed to press the ball out of Fluminense, taking the opponent a little out of the “comfort zone”. The home team also managed to create chances, but left scoring spaces and saw the most dangerous opponent.

In the second half, the permanent assistant coach of Ceará, Juca Antonello, who took charge of the team after the farewell of Fight Gonzalez, he tried to bet on speed, but Cléber’s expulsion changed the scenario and Ceará found himself more cornered. After Flu’s goal, the team failed to show reaction force, despite the changes.

Fluminense’s performance

Fluminense have maintained the structure of the team they played in the last rounds, with André, Martinelli, Yago and Ganso in midfield. The team started with some difficulties, but soon began to find spaces and create opportunities, especially with Cano.

With Cléber being sent off in the second half, Tricolor was left with one more and started to have things easier. Against this backdrop, Cano achieved the goal of putting guests in a more comfortable playing situation. With the favorable score, new opportunities, but above all attention to the defense.
