Responsible sources in the Gold Division of the Chamber of Commerce in Cairo said that gold prices today have witnessed some fluctuation with the beginning of Eid Al-Fitr, noting that this period is witnessing continuous fluctuations in the price of a gram of gold, whether within the local market or even at the global level, which is something that Some attributed it to many factors, on top of which was the volume of demand for buying the yellow metal during this period, as well as economic fluctuations due to the Russian-Ukrainian war and the repercussions of the Corona virus.

Surprise in gold prices today

Official figures indicate a very slight decline in the price of a gram of gold during today’s trading, compared to what it was during yesterday’s trading, Thursday.

And the gold prices came today, Friday, April 21, which corresponds to the first day of Eid Al-Fitr, and it came as follows:

  • The price of a gram of 24 karat gold has recorded about 2789 pounds.
  • The price of a gram of 21 karat today has recorded about 2440 pounds.
  • The price of a gram of 18 karat gold today has reached about 2091 pounds.
  • The price of a gram of 14 karat has recorded about 1627 pounds.
  • The price of the gold pound has recorded about 19520 pounds.

Ay Sagha stops publishing gold prices due to manipulation

In a related context, responsible sources in the iSagha platform, which is dedicated to buying and selling gold via the Internet, said that it had decided to stop publishing gold prices during these hours, due to the occurrence of price manipulation during these days, noting that some merchants have priced the dollar at more than 44 pounds, which made the price of a gram of 21 carat rise to about 2440 pounds, despite the fact that the price of the dollar in the bank recorded about 30.9 pounds.
