Flu and Covid-19 Vaccination Campaign in Castilla y León: News, Administration, Doses, and Balance of the 2022 Campaign

The Junta de Castilla y León has started the vaccination campaign against flu and Covid-19 with institutionalized people today in Soria. Next Tuesday, the 10th, it will be done with the general population in the groups in which the vaccine is recommended.

Campaign news

? The campaign includes as its main novelty the flu vaccination of children from 6 to 59 months.

? During the autumn-winter season, babies born from October will also be immunized against bronchiolitis, which will be done in hospitals, and those born from March to October, in health centers.

Vaccine administration

In the case of people institutionalized in residences, vaccination is carried out by health professionals who will go to these institutions to administer both vaccines. Their presence will be used to vaccinate the professionals who work there.

Health and social health personnel will be able to be vaccinated against both vaccines in their workplaces, through the reference occupational health services. For the rest of the population aged 60 years and over or under 60 years of age with risk factors, the places where they can be vaccinated and the method of appointment will be established in each health area, according to their social, population and health circumstances. , among other.

The vaccination appointment can be requested a few days before October 10 through the usual channels: Sacyl Conecta App, telephone number of your health center and on the Castilla y León Health Portal

Dosis and inversion

For the 2023-2024 campaign, the Ministry of Health has purchased 805,500 doses of flu vaccines, of which initially 34,156 doses are destined for Soria, which will be expanded if necessary. The total expenditure is 10,527,058 euros, including the new intranasal vaccine intended for the child population from 24 to 59 months.

Regarding influenza, the campaign will be aimed at those population groups with a higher risk of complications if they suffer from influenza infection and at people who can transmit it to others with a high risk of complications.

The objective of vaccination against Covid-19 is to reinforce the protection of the most vulnerable people and health and social health personnel to reduce morbidity and mortality and the impact of this disease on care capacity.

Balance of the 2022 flu campaign
