In March last year, the governor of the state of Florida, Republican Ron DeSantis (44), signed a law against teaching about gender identity and sexual orientation to children. The law is called by the critics the “don’t say gay” law.
The ban applied to both kindergarten and primary school, up to and including the third stage. The desire for such a change in the law comes from the fact that several parents have expressed that it will protect their children from what they perceive to be harmful teaching at school.
– Will tell everything
This week, parts of the law have been extended up to and including the twelfth grade, which means upper secondary school. It reports ABC News.
The change in the law is something that artist and TV profile Jorun Stiansen (39) reacts strongly to. On Thursday evening, she took to Instagram to shed light on what she describes as “absolutely crazy”.
– Completely incomprehensible
On Instagram’s story function, Stiansen does not hide that she is disappointed that Florida’s law change.
“It’s so crazy to read. Scary and completely incomprehensible that it will happen in the year 2023… That certain people want to hold others back and down is helping to prevent a vital and natural development and part of life that we are totally dependent on,” she begins.
Distributed millions to the parents-in-law
Furthermore, the 39-year-old asks his followers why it should be so important for the United States to spend enormous resources on preventing other people from just being themselves.
“Every desire for an up-and-coming person should be to want the best for their neighbor??? To want to see each other unfold their full potential in life? The fact that we cheer each other on, lift each other up and forward and use the resources in each other will only benefit ALL of us”.

She continues:
“I don’t UNDERSTAND that there are people who want to deny other independent free people this”.
Dagbladet has tried to get in touch with Jorun Stiansen for comment, without success.
– It’s insane
Stiansen also addresses the much-discussed gun culture in the United States.
– Broke 36-year-old tradition
According to The daily newspaper the number of Americans who carry guns on a daily basis doubled between 2015 and 2019. Now around 6 million walk around with a loaded firearm on a daily basis.
She herself reacts to the fact that the US is not taking action on what actually creates fear and destroys lives.
“The fact that the US spends so damn much time banning people like you and me who just want to live their lives surrounded by love is INSANE when they should rather spend the time getting some laws made against all the shooting incidents and weapons that kill and take lives weekday”.
The Norwegian artist and TV profile continues:
“And one last thing. The fact that some people over there are more afraid of art such as drag shows than they are of weapons says a little.”
