Geraldine Gimblet of Lakeland bought a winning Florida lottery ticket one day after her daughter completed her final treatment for breast cancer. The woman assures that she had spent all her savings to help her daughter and now the $10 ticket was the $2 million winner for her.

“I just didn’t know. I was like, ‘Are you sure, would you check this on your phone?’ And I won,” Gimblet said on “Good Morning America.” Also the 74-year-old woman added that she has been playing lottery for a long time. “Every day, I bring these little scratch cards in my pockets.”

Gimblet said on the television show that when her daughter was diagnosed she “just didn’t think about it” and invested all her savings to improve her quality of life and try everything in her power to keep her alive.

Although the treatment left a financial void in the family, everyone was happy because Jackson (Gimblet’s daughter) was responding well to the treatment; until the day before her mother won the lottery, she beat breast cancer.
