A woman in Florida, United States (US), was arrested for shooting dead his neighbor through the door. The woman named Susan Lorincz (58) is known to have hurled racist remarks at the neighbor’s child she killed.
Reported AFP, Susan killed her neighbor named Ajike Owens (35), a black resident. Lorincz was arrested four days ago on Tuesday, four days after the shooting occurred at an apartment complex in downtown Ocala.
Police said Lorincz was initially angry with Owens’ children, who were playing in a field near his home. Lorincz even physically attacked the children.
“During this altercation, Lorincz threw a skate at Owens’ 10-year-old son, hitting the boy’s toe,” the sheriff’s office said.
“Afterward, when his son and 12-year-old brother went to talk to Lorincz, he opened his door and swung his umbrella at them.”
Then, Owens’ mother immediately approached Lorincz’s house with her 10-year-old son and asked him to come out. It was here that Owens was shot through his door.
“Lorincz then fired one shot through the door, hitting Owens in the upper chest,” he said.
The sheriff’s office said Lorincz said Owens had tried to break down his door. He said he shot Owens in self-defense.
Police concluded that Lorincz’s actions were not justified under Florida law. Lorincz could face up to 30 years in prison.
