There is talk of whether the right to abortion should be protected, and whether marijuana should be legalized for recreational use.

The decision is a defeat for Florida’s Republican justice officials, who oppose the abortion issue being on the ballot in the November election.

The proposal would prohibit laws that prohibit, penalize, delay or restrict abortion before viability or when necessary to protect the patient’s health.

The Supreme Court decided on Monday that the voters will be allowed to decide on a change in the law that will protect the right to abortion in Florida. The decision could give the Democrats a tailwind in the election campaign by mobilizing pro-abortion voters in the state, writes the AP news agency.

In November, voters will also be able to decide whether companies that grow and sell marijuana for medical purposes can sell it to adults over 21, regardless of purpose. The proposal would also make it legal to possess marijuana for personal use.

This can also mobilize more Democrats on election day, according to AP.
