Florida reports the highest number of infections in two months: 3,865 cases

MIAMI. –Florida reported 3,865 cases and 66 deaths from COVID-19 on Monday, the highest number in almost two months, according to data reported by the Florida Department of Health and published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The figures reported this Monday are the sum of two days since the CDC does not update data on Sundays. This Monday’s update includes adjustments to the number of deaths for each day. 53% of the people who were reported to the CDC as deceased died in the last 14 days.

According to data published by the CDC in the last seven days, the state has added an average of 41 deaths and 2,106 cases each day.

The figures reported this Monday represent the highest average number of cases since last October 21, when 2,262 infections were added.

Until now, Florida has a total of 3,713,214 cases and 62,073 deaths from COVID-19 since the pandemic began, according to the most recent figures from the CDC.
