Friday’s figure released by the local health agency on Friday marks a further dramatic increase in cases in the state of around 20 million people.

Across the United States, more than 50,000 new infections are currently recorded every day within 24 hours, also more than ever before. After a brief period of relaxation, health professionals are particularly concerned about the situation in southern states. In other parts of the country, too, the gradual easing of the corona measures was withdrawn or paused due to the increase in new infections.

More than 2.8 million infected people in the United States

In total, more than 2.8 million infections with the Sars-CoV-2 pathogen have been detected in the USA. Almost 130,000 people died after or with Covid 19 disease.

US President Donald Trump explains the high number of infections with the extension of the tests. However, referring to the higher proportion of positive tests, Vice Health Minister Brett Giroir said on Thursday that the virus was actually spreading and not just more cases were being recorded.
