Florida Panthers Win Overtime Thriller Against Vegas Golden Knights

A beautiful long-range goal from Carter Verhaeghe in the 5th minute of extra time gave Florida a victory they hadn’t thought possible for a long time.

After the 2:5 and 2:7 in the first two finals, the Panthers also looked like a defeat in the first match in front of a home crowd before they scored the goal to make it 2:2 just over two minutes before the end of regular time. Top scorer Matthew Tkachuk scored the equalizer after a rebound with his eleventh goal in the playoffs.

Although Florida took the lead early on with a goal by Brandon Montour (5′), the Vegas Golden Knights then dominated the game and managed to turn things around with goals from Mark Stone (17′) and Jonathan Marchessault (35′). As a result, Florida’s Russian goalie Sergej Bobrowski kept his team in the game with numerous saves and thus made the turnaround possible.

The fourth final game will take place again on Sunday night in Sunrise, Florida.
