In the second period, the only goal scored by Vegas forward Jonathan Marchesseau. At the 18th minute of the third period, Matthew Tkachak saved Florida from defeat. Carter Verhage scored the winning goal in overtime.
Russian Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky saved 25 of 27 shots. He was recognized as the second star of the meeting.
