Although it might seem incredible to many of the unemployed people in South Florida, the Sunshine State is the area with the fewest number of unemployed in the entire United States, according to official sources.
It was Governor Ron DeSantis himself who informed the media that the unemployment rate in Florida stood at 2.6% in January, below the national average and for the twenty-seventh consecutive month.
“We will continue to prioritize policies that support Florida families as they continue to face persistent inflation and national economic headwinds,” De Santis said in his recent speech in Hialeah.
Among the main reasons that there are few unemployed in Florida is the development of the private sector that grew by 5.3% and offered some 433,100 new jobs. This figure represents an increase of 1.7% over the national rate of 3.6% during the same period, reports Newspaper Las Americas.
FLORIDA OFFERS JOB OPPORTUNITIES TO NEW ARRIVALS
This outlet also confirms that Florida’s revised unemployment rate reflects that more people are participating in the state’s workforce than initially reported.
“Florida is number one in net migration, tourism, and new business formations, because we have resisted the elites and forged our own path to success,” the Republican governor enthused.
The private sector itself created nearly 30,000 jobs during the month of January 2023. For its part, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) encourages Floridians to search for work and new job opportunities through the CareerSource Florida network.
