Measures against the undocumented immigrants by the Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantishave raised alarm about these groups. However, a surprising decision has been made that may benefit a certain group in obtaining a work visa.
Learn in this note what the measure consists of Ron DeSantis to help a certain group of immigrants obtain the long-awaited work visa.
Who are the beneficiaries?
The Governor Ron DeSantis has issued a law to benefit foreign health professionals seeking to obtain a Green Card or the work visa. This after joining the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC). This is not the first time the Republican has taken such a measure by approving universal licensing.
These are the visas that health personnel in Florida can apply for after the new measure Ron DeSantis:
- EB-1: Workers applying for this visa must have exceptional ability in the fields of science, arts, education, business or sports. In addition, it includes outstanding professors and researchers and does not require any work sponsorship,
- EB-2: It is intended for professionals with advanced degrees or exceptional abilities. They can request an exemption from labor certifications and no employment sponsorship is required.
- EB-3: This is the one with the lowest priority and is aimed at skilled, professional and non-skilled workers. It has a series of requirements and requires sponsorship from an American employer and obtaining a labor certificate.
While DeSantis’ measure does not guarantee approval by the Citizenship and Immigration Service of the United States (Uscisfor its acronym in English) with respect to the work visa, but it makes it easier to obtain it.
