Keyontae Johnson, basketball player for the University of Florida, remains hospitalized after he collapsed during the team’s game against Florida State on Saturday, December 12.
The Florida Gators men’s basketball team threw a statement on Twitter regarding the health of the 21-year-old athlete on Sunday, December 13. “Keyontae Johnson remains in critical but stable condition at Tallahassee Memorial,” the statement read.
The post also included a message from Scott Stricklin, the athletics director of the university, who thanked everyone for taking care of his player.
“We thank all the medical staff who have helped Keyontae,” shared Scott. “Keyontae received excellent care on site from FSU staff and at Tallahassee Memorial, who have worked in consultation with UF Health. We are happy that his parents can be by his side and everyone feels the support of Gator Nation. “
Along with Keyontae’s parents, Mike White, the head coach, and Dave Werner, the AD Associate for Sports Health, remain in the hospital with the basketball star.
