Now the sentence for the double murderer with the conspicuous tattoos – he had several swastikas tattooed on his body – has been decided: Wade Wilson will receive the death penalty. When Judge Nicholas Thompson announces the verdict on Tuesday, quiet cheers and clapping can be heard from the audience, as the Bild reported.

According to a report by New York Post According to Judge Thompson, “The evidence shows that the murders were heinous, cruel and inhumane and that the second murder was cold, calculated and premeditated.”

“This case was about killing for the sake of killing. Strangulation is the epitome of life slipping through someone’s hands,” said prosecutor Andreas Gardiner. Wilson’s lawyers argued that he suffered brain damage due to drug addiction and was plagued by abandonment anxiety after being given up for adoption by his biological parents. According to the New York Post, Wilson’s adoptive parents had pleaded in a letter to the court not to sentence him to death: “The human being is still in there.”

Wade Wilson killed Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz within hours of each other on October 7, 2019. Wilson met Melton at a bar and went home with her, where he strangled her the next day in her Cape Coral home. He later encountered Ruiz, who was on her way to work. Wilson, who was in a car stolen from Melton, asked her for directions. She got into his car, where he also strangled her and then ran over her multiple times. Wilson admitted to the murders in conversations with his father, who eventually notified the police.

In Florida, it usually takes about 14 years for a death sentence to be carried out. During this time, prisoners live in solitary cells. They receive three meals a day, but spend most of their day locked in their cells. Contact with other prisoners is severely restricted: common rooms are off-limits to them. Wade Wilson showed little reaction when the verdict was announced.
