AEleven volunteer fire brigades are currently on duty in Theresienfeld in the event of a major fire at a composting site.
The fire brigade FF Theresienfeld was alerted on Maundy Thursday at 6 p.m. to a fire on a composting site.
The fire was already visible from afar and the largest compost heap of the compost producer with around 120m³ of compost was fully engulfed. In addition, there is a strong development of smoke that can be seen from several kilometers away.
There are currently 100 fire brigade members with around 30 vehicles on duty. The emergency services are trying to prevent the spread to other compost heaps in the facility.
