Alain Bouvier will present and sign his book “The school of my dreams” during this conference
Next Tuesday, October 18, at 6 pm in the Humanities space, a conference will be held by Alain Bouvier, former rector, associate professor at the University of Sherbrooke in Quebec and former member of the High Council for Education, the parliamentarian who controls the school right of refoundation and editor-in-chief of the international education magazine in Sèvres.
He is honorary president of AFAE and co-director of the “Profession cadre service public” collection he created. During this conference he will present his latest essay “The school of my dreams”, published by L’Harmattan. The first part of this essay takes stock of the total lack of feedback, on the two mantras of the former minister Jean-Michel Blanquer, on an interesting “parenting effect”, on the disorganization of French schools and on the growing disenchantment with professional teaching. . Starting from the constraints that the health situation still imposes, in the second part, the author proposes changes for the school. He considers the future of digital, the types of hybrid school, the inevitable evolution of the school form and the need for a new teaching profession.
A journey in the service of education
Alain Bouvier was first a professor of mathematics and resided in several foreign universities before exercising the responsibility of various public bodies in France and then becoming a professor of management sciences at the Institute of Business Administration (IAE) of the University of Poitiers until 2010. University of which he is now Professor Emeritus. He has carried out more than 150 missions abroad on 5 continents. Today, his work focuses on public governance and management, especially education systems.
