Floortje Dessing has recovered from the tropical virus she contracted in Bali last weekend. “This broken leg is walking around again,” the presenter writes with a photo of herself on the island. Dessing lay in bed for days with a “throbbing headache”.
“And now I’m done with health stuff. I’m not going to start about it again. Go, get to work!”, the presenter continues her story. “The advantage of falling over in Bali is that it is teeming with good ‘healthy’ places to recover.”
On her second day on the island, Dessing was struck down by the virus. She vomited a lot, couldn’t eat anything and had a severe headache.
The 52-year-old presenter is on the island for work. She wants to draw attention to wild animals that are used for tourism purposes.
“Hopefully we can make stories that explain what it really is,” writes Dessing. “You have to decide for yourself whether you still want to visit those attractions when you holiday here.”
