Floortje Dessing is in Bali for TV work, but for the time being she doesn’t see much more than her bedroom. The presenter is lying in bed with a “nasty tropical virus”.
Dessing was already felled by the virus on day 2 of her visit to the Indonesian island. “I’m just sleeping indoors under a mosquito net,” she says Instagram. “Occasionally waking up with a pounding headache.”
The 52-year-old presenter has not eaten for days and only keeps water down. “That’s traveling too. But just keep going and we’ll be back.”
Dessing gets a lot of get well wishes under her message. “Thanks for all the nice words. A person already recovers somewhat from that,” she responds.
The television maker is back on the Indonesian island for the first time in seven years. She says a lot has changed. “So much more built, and so much busier after the lull of COVID. But still really beautiful.”
