Floorball Match Previews: Sparta Tallinn vs FK Ķekava and Tartu EMU vs NND/RJTC

“Sparta Tallinn” – “FK Ķekava” (at 15:30 in Tallinn)

Both teams have played two games this season, failing in both, thus currently occupying the sixth and fifth places in the tournament table. In case of success, one of the teams can break into the quartet of the best teams. The Tallinn team went to Vidzeme last weekend, where they first capitulated to “Rubene” with 1:7, but a day later they also failed against Cēsis “Lekringa” with 5:11 in the most productive game. The most productive player of the unit is currently 23-year-old Mona Lisa Lusti, who has 3 (1+2) productive points in two games. Meanwhile, the young Rēlika Liva is currently the best goal scorer in the Tallinn team with two goals. The team went to the away matches with only ten field players, and it is believed that the composition will be wider at home, which could allow to strengthen for a more positive result.

FK “Ķekava” has currently only played against Latvian teams, experiencing two non-resulting losses – first they had to concede 2:5 at home to Cēsis, but only one goal was scored in the capital in a 1:4 defeat against “NND/RJTC”. As a result, none of the floorball players has currently scored more than one performance point. Ieva Bushmane, Annie Darta Dankfelde and Ulrika Skakovska scored goals.

Last year, the teams played three games against each other, in the first of which the Latvian team won with a score of 4:3, but a day later “Sparta” managed to get revenge with a score of 5:3. If those two games were played in Estonia, then in the third game in Ķekava the home team triumphed with the result 7:4.

“Tartu EMU” – “NND/RJTC” (at 18:30 Tartu)

The Tartu team, which played with the same opponents last weekend, had a slightly better start to the season than their compatriots. If a hopeless 3:12 loss was experienced against “Rubeni”, then against “Lekring” they managed to overcome a three-goal deficit and celebrate a 5:4 victory in extra time. The clear leader of the team is the playing coach Kati Kolsar, who participated in five of the team’s eight goals, scoring once herself, and she also had four assists. Meanwhile, Kirke Polinski, with two accurate shots, is currently the best goal scorer in the ranks of the Tartu club.

Meanwhile, “NND/RJTC” already made a serious application in the beginning of the season in the fight for the first championship title. In the opening match of the season, the girls from Riga convincingly defeated “Rubeni” with 7:2, but a week ago they also defeated FK “Ķekava” with 4:1, thus NND/RJTC is currently at the top of the tournament table with six points. Marta Reke is the team’s top scorer with 4 (3+1) points, while Anna Mūrniece earned all four points this season with goals. Likewise, Karina Michule, Cindy Žigur and Evelina Drozdova have identical statistics of 3 (1+2) points.

Last year, Latvians won all three matches between them, the most compelling of which was the last match – 7:2, 10:1 and 3:2. Also tonight, “NND/RJTC” will be the clear favorites of the match.
