Floods in Sikkim: Major Road Damage and 14 Bridges Washed Away, With Ten Dead and 82 Missing

Himanshu Tiwari, spokesman for the Indian Army, said on Thursday that floods swept away people, roads and bridges in a mountainous valley in the state of Sikkim in northeastern India.

The information available to the officials indicates major road damage and the washing away of 14 bridges.

So far, the remains of ten people have been found, while 82 people are missing, including 22 soldiers, Sikkim Chief Secretary Vijay Bhushan Pathak said.
