In several places in the Netherlands, there was flooding due to the heavy showers that passed over the country yesterday afternoon and evening.
In Meppel, the flat roof of a car repair company threatened to fail because the rainwater did not drain away and remained on the roof. The fire brigade had to be called in to pump out the water. Some houses were also flooded.
In Apeldoorn and Nunspeet, streets were flooded because the wells could no longer handle the large amounts of water. In Groningen, a tunnel became full of water and the A30 between Lunteren and Ede-Noord also flooded.
