Flooded streets: flooding due to heavy rain showers

What that cold front looked like is clearly visible on radar images. No part of the Netherlands kept it dry:

The cold front caused torrential rain of locally 20 to 30 millimeters in a short time. This caused flooding in some places.

RTV Drenthe writes that a roof in Meppel is in danger of being destroyed by rainwater. Several homes were also reported to have been flooded. Local media also write that streets in Apeldoorn and Nunspeet are flooded.

Images of the heavy rain showers are shared from various places on social media. It rained a lot tonight in Rijssen (Overijssel) and in Gelderland:

Images of flooded tunnels in Groningen are also shared on Twitter. This also applies to the tunnel under the Southern Ring Road:

The worst of the rain is now over. A few showers may fall on the west coast tonight, especially over the sea, there can also be a blow of thunder.

It could still rain in the west of our country tomorrow. In the rest of the country there may also be a few showers, but these will be interspersed with some clearings, which means that the sun comes out more often.

In the following days the temperature will drop a bit and the chance of a shower remains present. Most showers are expected on Tuesday.
