Flooding occurred in various places in Brabant after heavy rain in the afternoon. Streets in Bergen op Zoom, Rijen and Oisterwijk, among others, were flooded. In Rijen, where there are residents problems more often after rain, the fire brigade had to be called in.

More than 35 millimeters of rain fell in some places in Brabant, reports Weather online. More than 38 millimeters were recorded at the Gilze-Rijen measuring station. On average, almost 90 millimeters fall during the whole month of August.

The fire brigade also had to respond in Bergen op Zoom, reports the Eindhovens Dagblad. There, a pothole cover was pushed up by the water and water was leaking into some homes. The police then closed off several roads. After the fire brigade pumped out the water, it was possible to re-open the affected streets during the afternoon.
