Then some Muslim scholars from Al-Azhar University finally issued a fact to forbid the game because it is suspected as a depiction of the destruction of the Kaaba.
“The inclusion of illustrations of the destruction and mockery of the Kaaba in the game has a direct negative impact on the religious beliefs of young people, distorting their ideas and identities, causing them to despise sacred sites and objects,” the fatwa reads.
Suddenly, this immediately received a response from the developer of Fortnite, Epic Games.
The developer of this game denied the issue of the existence of a building similar to the Kaaba for players to destroy while playing the game.
Quoted from Alaraby, Sunday (4/7/2021), the Fortnite team said that the Kaaba building was the result of an in-game modification made by players in the Fortnite creative mode.
