As the Munich company announced, rural areas will not be neglected with the first connections. In addition to major cities such as Berlin, Leipzig, Nuremberg, Hamburg, Frankfurt am Main and Munich, smaller cities such as Bayreuth, Himmelkron, Titisee-Neustadt, Weimar and Wolpertshausen are also on the timetables.

The bus company wants to go back to normal. Depending on demand, the route network is to be gradually expanded.

“After a two-month standstill, we are looking forward to finally returning to the streets and giving many people the opportunity to travel again and visit family and friends,” said Flixbus boss André Schwämmlein.

“Our team has used the past few weeks to develop a hygiene concept that enables travelers to travel safely by long-distance bus even in the current situation.”

In order to ensure a safe journey even in the Corona period, the company will adapt to the development of the pandemic in close exchange with experts and authorities.

The hygiene concept at the start:

“We appeal to our passengers to only start their journey if they are symptom-free. Our cancellation policy offers maximum flexibility here,” promises Schwämmlein.

In addition to Germany, Flixbus is slowly starting up again in Austria, Portugal and Poland. In Sweden, Denmark, Croatia and the Czech Republic, the green buses can already be seen on the streets again.
